T2P Films is a production company based in Toronto, Canada founded in July, 2011, specializing in aviation and transit (with focus on the Toronto Transit Commission). T2P Films stands for Trains to Planes. Our team is made up of individuals passionate in both transit and creating engaging stories.
Our aim is to share our unique interest in aviation and transit with the world, allowing more people to better understand and hopefully share those interests. We are also building a community where those with unique interests, such as transit, are in an environment where they feel comfortable sharing those interests through our Virtual TTC Academy and Virtual London Underground Academy.
Our extensive connections in the transit, aviation industry and beyond allow us to build productions that are not only entertaining but also informative.
Our interest in transit, particularly subway operations and transit control, lead us to start the Virtual TTC Academy in December 2012, a transit enthusiast community that simulates virtual Toronto subway operations online, further engaging our audience. This would not have been possible without the support of a fellow transit fan, Ernest, the owner of BusPics, a transit photography site featuring buses, trains, ferries and more from around the world.
Prior to that we updated the existing Toronto Yonge-University-Spadina subway line for the free and open source train simulator OpenBVE. Details here. In November, 2013 our team made up of John, M., Aljon, R. and ourselves released the first ever Bloor Danforth line for OpenBVE. Details here. These routes are currently the only realistic Toronto subway lines available for PC and are available for free download on our forum.
In January, 2014 we released a documentary production featuring 10 TTC subway operators, 4 tower/transit controllers, a line mechanic and supervisor that was licensed by Bell Local Toronto.
Please contact us for any production requests. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
